If you are authorized to do sohave appropriate permissions, you can create and manage events. Some administrators are also authorized to create and manage regions that span multiple regions. To manage any type of event, open the Event menu in the main navigation bar and then select Event Management. The Event Management page shows a set of details for each event, including the event icon, whether it is a multi-region event, and its status, start and end dates, title, and more.

The options you see in the Action column depend on the following:

Note the following about events:

  • Editing an active event generally includes updating the event details. For multi-region events, this can include adding and removing regions.

  • Some events end automatically after a period of time. An authorized user can manually end an event prior to the indicated end time.

  • You can also schedule events to begin at a future date. This is useful for sporting events, training sessions, drills, and exercises.

  • Users who are authorized to work with ad hoc events can create, edit, and end them.

  • EMResource automatically sends notifications to appropriate users when events are created and, for some, when they are ended. In addition, adding a resource to an active event and changing the regions associated with an active multi-region event also generate automated notifications.

  • You can also print or exportthe event details view.

This section provides step-by-step procedures for editing an event and editing an ad hoc event.

To edit an event

  1. From any page, open Point to the Event menu and in the list, click Event Management. The Event Management page opens.
  2. Locate the event and on that row, click the Editlink in the first column. The Edit Event page opens.
  3. Add to or change the detail for the event.

  4. Click Save.

To edit an ad hoc event

  1. From any page, open Point to the Event menu and in the list, click Event Management. The Event Management page opens.
  2. Locate the event and on that row, click the Editlink in the first column. The Edit Ad Hoc Event page opens.
  3. Add to or change the detail for the event details.
  4. Click Next. The Select Resources page opens.
    Tip: Use the search feature in the Resources to Participate in This Event section to narrow the results that appear in the page and make it easier to identify the resources to be involved.
  5. If appropriate, add resources to this the event.
  6. Click Click Next. The The Select Status Types  page page opens..
    Tip
    Note: If you did not add resources in the Select Resources pageon the Select Resources page, you cannot make any changes to this page.
  7. If appropriate, add Status Types to the event.

  8. Click Next. The Ad Hoc Event Confirmation page opens, showing various high-level details.

  9. Click Yes to confirm your changes to the ad hoc eventYes.
