This glossary describes frequently words and acronyms used in EMResource and its documentation.

Common Account Management
Comprehensive, secure web-based system for the management of user accounts across several Juvare applications; allows authorized users to use a single user name and password for all applications and allows them to switch applications without having to log in to each.

Document Library
Feature allowing users to view and share documents within their region.
E
Event
Situations or activities that are typically episodic in nature and often demand an increase in communication to regional users and additional status queries; examples are mass casualty incidents, public health advisories, severe weather warnings, and bed counts.

Configurable questionnaires or surveys that aid in gathering information from or providing information to regional users.

HAvBED
Hospital Available Beds for Emergencies and Disasters (HAvBED) standard.
Help
Comprehensive set of procedures and overview topics that can aid users in learning EMResource and using it on an ongoing basis.

Instant Message
Allows users to communicate with each other in real time within EMResource; authorized users can initiate private and conference IM sessions; any invited user can participate in an IM session.

Notification
Means of informing regional users of certain situations, such as changes in a resource's status and the occurrence of events or incidents; options can include email, text pager, and EMResource Web.
R
Report
Set of information on a resource, status, form, or event for which you can set certain parameters and then generate in PDF and/or CSV (comma-separated value) format.
Resource
Entity that reports a status; generally, these are facilities, organizations, and agencies that report information on medical capabilities, services, and supplies.
Resource Type
High-level categories of resources that report some kind of status; these can be based on virtually any type of groups, such as function type, trauma level, or geographic areas.
Right
Permission that governs the views and features to which the user has access; usually grouped into roles.
Role
Grouping of access rights that govern the views and features to which users with this role have access.
S
Saturation Score
Standard score that measures the percentage of total capacity for an emergency department (ED); available as a type of status type.
Status
Option within a status type, such as fully operational, limited operation, and closed.
Status Reason
Reason a status was chosen, such as the status changed to ED closed due to saturation, internal disaster, or no ICU beds available.
Status Type
Type of status on which a resource reports, such as ED status, burn bed availability, total capacity, ventilators owned, and so forth.
Sub-Resource
Entity that reports a status and that is subordinate to a resource; subresources are generally items, contacts, or services owned by or associated with a resource, such as medical equipment and contacts.
Substate Region
Logical groupings of resources configured to collect resource availability data to submit to HHS (HAvBED Version 3).
