Location and region administrators: Use this procedure to locate an existing kit template (that your Customer Administrator created) and customize it for your location or region. Customization can include adding attributes, adding items, and changing quantities.

When you customize a template, it is customized at all domains (at the same level) to which you have access. For example, if you are a Region Administrator with access to two regions, when you customize the kit template, it will be customized at both of your region domains.

On the Add Items to Kit page, you have several options for viewing the items. Keep in mind that you may want to keep this list small so that you can view them within your window without scrolling, and then use the pagination tools to page through the list. Also, you can easily locate an item by enter all or part of its name in the Search field. Remember to clear the search field again to view the entire list of available items.

Following are additional tips on adding items to a kit:

  • On the Add Items to Kit page, use the right arrow to add an item and the left arrow to remove one.
  • When you save, the category tree refreshes to show the new kit. Kit templates that you construct are assigned the unique kit icon.

To customize a kit template

  1. On the Settings tab, click Categories. The Categories page opens.
  2. In the left pane, locate and select the kit template
  3. To add attributes, in the Optional Attributes section:
    1. Click Add Attribute. The Attributes window opens.
    2. Click each attribute you want to add to this type.
    3. When you are done, click Close.
    4. To make an attribute required, select its Required checkbox.
  4. To change items in the kit template, Click Edit Items. The Add Items to Kit page opens.
  5. To add items to the kit:
    1. In the Items (left) pane, locate and select an item.
    2. Click the right arrow to add it to the kit. The item appears in the Kit Items pane.
    3. Indicate the Amount.
    4. Repeat these steps to continue adding items.
  6. To remove items from the kit:
    1. In the Kit Items (right) pane, locate and select an item.
    2. Click the left arrow to remove it from the kit.
    3. Repeat these steps to continue removing items.
  7. To change the numbers of items:
    1. Locate the item and change the Amount.
    2. Repeat this step to change other amounts.
  8. When you are finished, click Done. The Add Items to Kit page closes. The Items table shows the changes you made.
  9. Click Save. The kit is added to your category hierarchy.
