After enabling the Vaccination: Automatic Scheduling of Second Dose plug-in and following the steps outlined below, when patients’ tickets are scanned at a check-in station, they will automatically be scheduled for their second dose a specific number of days in the future.

Important: To use automatic second-dose scheduling, the first- and second-dose clinics must be in the future. Automatic scheduling will not work if the first-dose clinic has already taken place.

To create the events

Prior to setting up automated second-dose scheduling, the first-dose and second-dose events must be created and the events must share one or two things in common.

  1. The events must have the same timeslots, with the same quotas. For example, if the first event has timeslots at 9:00am, 9:30am, and 10:00am, with 10 appointments in each timeslot, the second dose event should have the same timeslots with 10 appointments in each timeslot.

    Note
: If a patient is automatically scheduled for a timeslot that is full in the second-dose event, the solution will automatically push them into the next available timeslot.

  2. You must complete the procedure Link Products with Different Names (below) OR the product names must be identical for the two events. If you want the two events to have identical names, they must meet these requirements.
    1. The products should not reference the first or second dose.
    2. The first-dose event can have voucher codes enabled, but the second-dose event cannot.

Important: For both events, ensure test mode is turned off and the events are marked as live.
