The Incident Mission is a statement that describes the overall goal or strategy of an IRG. The mission statements are accessed through Planning > Plan Summary, on the General drawer of IRGs, and these statements can be changed during Planning.

When IRGs are used to create incidents, the mission statement is displayed on the Incident Dashboard to provide guidance and direct response efforts. The mission statement, along with incident-level objectives, is also used to support compliance with the HICS 2014 and ICS 2014 standards. As the incident evolves, you can change and/or update the statement to better meet the needs of the incident.

Standard Mission Statements for HICS 2014 and ICS 2014 Plans

Note: With the HICS 2014 and ICS 2014 plans, several standard IRGs were combined and, as a result, these plans contain fewer IRGs than previous plans. eICS provides access to previous plan IRGs in case you want to copy and adapt discontinued mission statements.
