Home > EMTrack > EMTrack Regional Settings > Set Patient Arrival Option

Regional Administrators can specify their region's Patient Arrival setting. When a patient is designated as en route, the user generally specifies an estimated time of arrival (ETA). EMTrack tracks the time. If a client list gadget in your dashboard includes patients' ETAs, the remaining minutes are reflected in that column.

The following information can help you determine the best setting for your region:

Explicit Arrival

Hospital participation is required to mark patients as received. For example, a patient is being transported to Memorial Hospital and is given an ETA of 25 minutes. When the ETA is reached, the patient remains in the En Route status until someone at Memorial Hospital receives them.

In order for the En Route banner to receive real-time data and display actual client status, set your default arrival to Explicit. This ensures a client is not removed from the banner prior to actually arriving at the provider facility.

Implicit Arrival

When the ETA is reached, the system assumes the patient has arrived and has been received at the facility/location. The patient's status changes to Received.

If you select this option, you can also specify a default setting in ETA Timeout. If a user transports a patient without setting a specific ETA, the system automatically applies this as the patient's ETA.
