Event templates help you create new events more quickly by providing a consistent structure and

formatting

With the appropriate permissions, you can create new event templates and specify default elements

for the selected type of event

  • To create an event template

  • From any page, open the Event menu and click Event Setup. The Event Template List opens.

    To create or edit a template

    1. In the main menu, click Event and then click Event Setup. The Event Template List opens.
    2. Take one of these actions.

      1. Locate the template and, on that row, click Edit.

      Description

      Template Name

    Name of the template (required). Appears in the Select Event Template page, when creating an event, as well as the Event List. It also appears in the Event Template List for those who manage templates
    1. Unique name that describes the type of event in general terms.

    (required). The template creator/editor must specify the types of events for which this template is appropriate. This Definition appears in the Select Event Template page and Event Template List, helping other users to determine whether the template is appropriate for their current needs

      Default Event Title / Default Event Information

    Default event title and details. The user can add to, change, or delete this information when creating an event based on this template
    1. When creating an event using a template, this information is prefilled by default, but the person creating the event can edit this information.

      Standard Event Type

      Multi-Region

      Template for information-only events that can be shared with multiple regions simultaneously.

      Mandatory Address

      When selected, specifies that certain address fields (City, State, County) are required when creating an event from this template.

    The exact location of an incident can be a crucial element in response. Therefore, for templates designed to address unplanned events, you will want to select this check box. This requires the event creator to supply these location details.

    1. Templates set up for non-emergency events (that is, purely informational in nature) should not require address detail. For these events, do not select this check box.

    By default, this field is not selected.
