Home > EMTrack > EMTrack User Accounts > Change Your Own Password

You can change your password for EMTrack through your Profile. However, if you have two or more linked solutions, such as eICS®, EMResource®, and EMTrack®, it is important to keep in mind that changing your password in one solution will change it for the other solutions.

Tips and guidelines for safeguarding your password

  1. You are responsible for changing your password every 90 days, even if you are not prompted to do so.

  2. Create strong passwords with a minimum of eight characters that contain three of the following four character sets:

    • Uppercase

    • Lowercase

    • Numeric

    • Special, such as !@#$%^

  3. When changing passwords, do not repeat any of the last five passwords you used.

  4. Do not reveal your username or password to anyone, including coworkers, supervisors, or family members.

  5. Do not keep written documentation of your password near your computer or mobile device.

  6. If you used a password to encrypt files that contain personal health information (PHI), personally identifiable information (PII), client confidential information, or company confidential information, do not send the password with the file. Either send the password in a separate email, or contact the recipient by phone or secure instant messaging to share it.

  7. Do not reveal your password on questionnaires or security forms.

  8. If someone demands to know your password or if you suspect that your password has been compromised, do not reveal your password to anyone else and report the incident to the Compliance Hotline and/or your Compliance Officer.
